Winter Indoors 2013 – Finals!

The finalists for winter indoors have been decided for 2013. How will they go?

In division 1, top seeds after the round robin Rebels Inside and Aftertaste has solid semifinal wins. The veteran Aftertaste have only lost once this season, to Rebels – can Rebels do it again or will the experience of Aftertaste win through? Rebels have no lack of experience themselves with national representatives.
Indoors experts Those Guys have some injuries, and play off against Chuckies 1 in what will be an exciting 3/4 playoff.
Helpa Helpa Helpa Da Kids finished fifth so had a bye last week. Will the extra rest mean they can beat Foreign Legion? Will Foreign Legion be able to overcome the five point deficit from their last match up?
Ferox have gone winless this season for 7th place.

Indoors with endzones
Indoors with rectangular endzones was trialed in the free court space during the league.

The first semifinal for Division 2 proved an upset: the previously unbeaten Wendy’s Backyard fell to new team Budget Cuts, who have been improving all season. North West made the final against an Auckland Uni team looking dashing in their uniforms. Will Budget Cuts be able to do more with less? Does North West have an answer for the height of their opposition?
Wendy’s Backyard beat Auckland Uni 24-16 in the last round robin matchup. Let’s see if they can repeat that performance. Auckland Uni will be hoping for the return of MVP frontrunner Henry Li.
The bottom half of the draw saw some very close games. Tigersaws notched up only their second win of the season 20-19 over Crab People. 7th placed Frizz in my Pants defeated 6th placed Chuckies 2 22-18. Anything can happen in the final week, and it probably will.

Thanks to all those have participated in indoors at Kohi, on the North Shore, and at schools league. Thanks also to those who have helped with the endzone-indoors trial, there has been an overwhelmingly positive response. See you all again in the spring time.
