AKSS 2015 Championship Tournament

The Auckland Secondary schools tournament kept us on the edge of our seats all day. Not only was this tournament an important build up for the Auckland teams going to NZ Secondary School Nationals but we also had warnings of Cyclone Pam waiting to hit the shores. We can easily say wind was a huge factor on the day with low scoring points and rolling discs left right and centre. Games had to be brought forward with shortened lunch breaks and quick intervals between games but the students stuck at it and battled the elements ‘till the end.
The girls competed in a round robin tournament and played each other twice with Avondale and Epsom in the final. Epsom took out the win and team spirit.
The boys played a round robin playing each of the teams once and the top two teams then went on to play a final. Auckland Grammar 1 gained a wicked victory over Westlake Boys and Mt Roskill Boys won the team spirit award for the tournament.
Congratulations to all the team MVPs!
